Stratobel

Assembly of two or more panes of glass using one or more PVB (polyvinylbutyral) or EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) interlayers
The structure of the assembly and the number of PVB interlayers determines the level of safety in terms of protection of individuals and property and protection against burglary, firearms and in the event of an explosion; can also be assembled with polycarbonate
Available with clear, coloured or opalescent PVB interlayers
Uses: For interior and exterior applications in single or double glazing

Range

The range of Stratobel laminated glasses is segmented into several categories, each of them satisfying various objectives in terms of aesthetics or performance.

Identification

Stratobel glasses are identified by a code comprising:

a series of numbers indicating the nominal thickness of each of the panes of glass
a final figure referring to the number of 0.38 mm thick PVB films or of 0.4 mm thick EVA films, for example: 44.2 is a laminated glass comprising two panes of glass with a PVB interlayer 2 x 0.38 mm thick

Complex structures (bullet-proof glass, for example) have aspecial identification system.

Safety Levels and Classification

The level of safety offered by Stratobel laminated glasses is split into three categories:

Accident prevention – These glass products are classified according to EN 12600: Glass in building – Pendulum test – Impact test method and classification for flat glass
Burglarproof – These glass products are classified according to EN 356: Glass in building – Security glazing – Testing and classification of resistance against manual attack
Bullet-proof – These glass products are classified according to EN 1063: Glass in building – Security glazing – Testing and classification of resistance against bullet attack
