Acoustic Insulating Glazing

The level of acoustic performance of an insulating glazing depends on:

• The total mass of the glass
• The thickness of the glasses used
• Whether laminated Stratobel or Stratophone glass is used
• The width of the spacer bar

Benefits

• Extended range of acoustic solutions: sound insulation (Rw) up to approximately 51 dB
• Can be assembled with a Planibel Top N+ to provide enhanced thermal insulation

Range

There are three types of assembly:

• IGU asymmetrical assemblies comprising two glasses of different thicknesses
• IGU assemblies incorporating one or two Stratobel laminated safety glasses
• IGU assemblies incorporating one or two Stratophone acoustic PVB safety glasses

Under the CE marking system, each manufacturer must be able to prove glass performance. Some performance levels are shown below as an example:
